As an Analyst of a rapidly growing service line, you will work with the Real Estate & Infrastructure Consulting team to grow the presence of our national services across Canada, pursue new business, strengthen our existing client relationships, and contribute to a high-performance team. This role will be part of an ambitious team changing how public, not-for-profit and private operations and real estate decisions are made to accelerate opportunities for Avison Young and our clients.  You will have an integral role in working with other Avison Young Professional Services team members to assess and provide recommendations for a variety of public, private and not-for-profit real estate investments. You will be entrusted to lead and enhance aspects of project assignments that will be critical to growing the Real Estate & Infrastructure Consulting service line focused on developing, creating and implementing the optimal solutions for our clients.


  • Work with Real Estate & Infrastructure Consulting Leadership to accelerate growth for the RE&I service offering across Canada team and professional recruiting, business development, etc.
  • Contribute and work on multi-disciplinary teams and lead aspects of various projects, including coordination with other Avison Young service lines, consultants and contractors to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Work directly with client stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive assignments, strategies and solutions, including client engagement, marketplace research, financial and performance analytics, decision-making processes and key outcomes to align with the client’s business strategy. Projects will be delivered successfully on time and within budget.
  • Work alongside our Real Estate & Infrastructure Consulting team to develop new client relationships and business to advance the business and platform to:
  • develop marketing content, presentations, framework and best practices for proposals, report, contracts and new client opportunities;
  • respond to formal Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities through professional proposals that include client requirements, proposed work program and project team, budget and qualifications to secure the potential opportunity.
  • Advance our client deliverables that span the full spectrum of technical requirements, including preparing strategic plans, analyzing business plans, developing business cases to meet client needs, growth planning for capital projects, needs assessment and conducting options analysis to support business and investment decisions;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of experience in qualitative and quantities research methods, scenario modelling, needs assessments, financial analysis, and strategic consulting practices to deliver “best in class” solutions for our client.
  • Gather and evaluate economic, demographic and real estate market data for input into project-specific deliverables.
  • Produce financial models of varying complexity, including but not limited to detailed cash-flow/Pro-forma projections and development models.
  • Prepare drafts of reports and presentations for client meetings, and communicate complex analyses clearly.
  • Manage and execute multiple assignments with an exceptional standard of performance.
  • Seek out innovation and best practices across all areas of the role – bring new ideas and thinking to client work and internal processes and operations as appropriate.


  • University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related mix of academic and practical experience. Management consulting experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, requires the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and external industry subject matter experts.
  • Strong financial analytical skills and understanding of real estate financial concepts, economic metrics and research processes, along with an understanding of real estate and redevelopment financial information.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate it into strategic deliverables.
  • Project management skills and ability to structure work.
  • Strong business writing and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team on a wide variety of projects.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to deliver with a proven track record of growth and performance.
  • Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interpret and present findings that provide value to clients.
  • Excels in a dynamic and rapidly growing work environment, managing multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, respectful, positive, with an attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Professional, entrepreneurial, high energy individual with the aptitude to learn new concepts and software.

  • Experience in commercial and public sector real estate would be considered an asset.
