Message from the President

First, and most importantly, I hope you, your loved ones and your colleagues are healthy and adapting well under the circumstances. In this unprecedented time, faced with the ever-evolving challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the leaders at NAIOP Greater Toronto Chapter have been, and will strive to minimize the disruption to your member services.

In recent months, the NAIOP Greater Toronto Programs Committee and Developing Leaders Committee, with great assistance from our association management company, have successfully accelerated the Chapter’s shift to virtual events. We have enjoyed informative panel presentations, education courses, and of course the Annual REX Awards held on October 1st.

As well, our annual Mentorship and Development Challenge programs are underway and this Fall we introduced NAIOP Bubbles, a new in-person, small groups, topics-based networking initiative for members.

I am pleased also that NAIOP provides an Uninterrupted Membership Guarantee which means, in the event of job loss, a member’s NAIOP Benefits remain intact up to one year or until they are reemployed.

I speak for the entire Chapter Board of Directors in sincerely thanking our industry partners and sponsoring companies for their ongoing support. As we all adjust to new realities, the Chapter continues to deliver value to members and the real estate development community because these wonderful organizations stand with us.

In conclusion, thank you to our volunteers and members for all that you contribute and your strong engagement with NAIOP Greater Toronto Chapter. If you have questions about anything, please reach out to me or any member of the Board of Directors.

Best wishes,

Joseph Shaw,
President, NAIOP Greater Toronto

NAIOP Corporate and Canadian Chapters

The association began as a small group of owners and developers of industrial parks in the eastern U.S. The NAIOP name once stood for National Association for Industrial and Office Parks, however in 2009, reflecting changes in membership, NAIOP dropped the words behind its acronym because they no longer reflected its membership composition. Over the years, and across 50+ North American Chapters, NAIOP has attracted members who are committed to excellence, entrepreneurial in spirit, and want to reach new heights in building excellence.
