Chetan Baweja has moved from Cadillac Fairview as a Senior Manager to Bentall Kennedy as a Director, Investment Management
Alex Candy has moved from Forgestone Capital as a research analyst to Allied Properties REIT as an analyst, lease reporting.
Caleigh Caplan has joined the Real Estate Group at Fasken Martineau as an Associate.
Kanistan Emmanuvel has moved from SmartREIT as a Senior Financial Analyst to Bentall Kennedy as a Manager of Real Estate Valuation.
Aleks Karamarkovic has been promoted from Associate, Investments to Director, Investments at Graywood Developments.
Emily Long has been promoted within Crestpoint Real Estate Investments to Associate, Acquisitions & Asset Management.
Odysseas Papadimitriou has joined Harris Sheaffer LLP from Miller Thomson LLP to continue his commercial real estate practice, with a focus on condominium development and condominium governance.
Eric Pennington has been promoted to Senior Valuation Analyst at Manulife Real Estate.
Phil Stone has been promoted within Bentall Kennedy to Vice President, Head of Research.
Matthieu Urbain has joined Crown Property Management Inc. as Analyst, Investments.
Aaron Moore at Avison Young, has recently completed the sale of Bracebridge Square, a 40,738 sf retail plaza tenanted by Tim Horton’s, Mac’s, Subway, & M&M Meats. The plaza was sold on behalf of an institutional investor for $10,400,000 . Aaron has also recently completed the sale of Ridley Square, a 47,588 retail plaza located in St. Catharines tenanted by Meridian Credit Union, Subway & Easy Home. The plaza was sold of behalf on a private investor for $14,100,000.
Ted Overbaugh at CBRE, has recently completed a 55 acre land transaction in Halton Hills at 340 Main Street for $8,000,000. Completed 140,000 SF design build to kick off development and 20 acres of residual land ready for development that allows outside storage and has rail access. Ted has also recently completed the sale of a 62,000 SF industrial Plaza in Brampton at 11-13 Edvac Drive for $5,255,000. 55 acre land transaction in Halton Hills at 340 Main Street for $8,000,000. The purchaser intends to convert the property to industrial condos.
John Stewart, Senior Vice President of Colliers Capital Markets | Canada, has recently completed the sale of a 5 building Class A flex portfolio in Halifax, NS. The portfolio consists of ~400,000 sf and was sold for $38,950,000. John has also recently completed the sale of a Class A multi-tenant industrial property located at 1170 Invicta Drive in Oakville, ON. The property consists of ~190,000 sf and sold for $20,245,000.

The Development Challenge 2016 Winners
For this year's contest, held on September 28, 2016, the subject property for which teams submitted development proposals is Dominion Square, located on Queen Street East, just east of Parliament Street. With multiple buildings and historic relevance for Toronto, the site challenged the vision and creativity of each participant. Read More Here

Earlier this month, NAIOP Greater Toronto was honoured for the quality and success of its Developing Leaders Program. Recognizing the best in programs, publications, membership, advocacy and more, the Chapter Merit Awards are presented annually at NAIOP’s Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat in Washington, D.C. Recipients are selected by a committee of their peers comprised of volunteer judges. Congratulations go out to the entire 2016 Developing Leader Committee for executing another successful year of programming.
